Patience

Patience (or forbearing) is the state of endurance under difficult circumstances, which can mean persevering in the face of delay or provocation without acting on annoyance/anger in a negative way; or exhibiting forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with longer-term difficulties. Patience is the level of endurance one can take before negativity. It is also used to refer to the character trait of being steadfast. (Wikipedia)

It’s taken me many years, but I have finally surrendered to the Lord’s path for my life. I use to see delays as an obstacle to overcome and would work diligently to clear the path. If I couldn’t clear the path, I’d figure a way over, under, around or throttle up to ‘ramming speed’ and smash through the opposition.

I’m certain there were times the Lord sat in heaven and just shook His head. I had little understanding of the ‘big picture’ and little patience for delay. Thankfully the Lord is long suffering with His children, yes thankfully!

We are in the midst of a God inspired delay with our business. Initially I was a little concerned that we would lose a big contract. Over the last several days, the Lord has shown us that there is plenty of work for us. Actually, more than we have resources to handle. On the surface, this looked like it would be devastating. The reality is, if it goes in the direction it appears to be headed, it will allow us to diversify and cover an even wider variety of events.

The proof is in the pudding as they say. I choose to place my confidence in our Father, I know He has our best interest at heart and uses all things for His glory. ‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.’ Romans 8:28
