It's not about making a point…let's make a difference

Wanted: Dead or Alive!

Last year we watched a sermon series about spiritual warfare by Chip Ingram titled, ‘The Invisible War’. In one part of the series Chip talked about how the enemy will come against you at so many angles, that once you see it, it become laughable. Last weekend was a great example of just that, spiritual warfare that got to the point where all Joanne and I could do was laugh about it.

I mean seriously, move 3 times, deal with one silly hurdle after another. It seemed like we got one thing taken care of and we had something else come up. If we took all of last year and looked at the few times we had to work through something, it doesn’t add up to the challenges we faced last weekend.

Dumbing Down Sin

Sin, is sin, is sin. Some how man has managed to give sin degrees or should I say, there is little sin and big sin. As a society we have lost the absolutes of what is right or wrong, especially if it impacts your life in particular. I hear people all the time say that truth is realitive to who you are and what your situation is…I just shake my head in disbelief.

The biggest lie we tell ourselves is the Lord wants us happy, so we throw away marriages instead of working through our problems or live in adulteress relationships or gluttony or greed or laziness or insert your favorite sin here _________ . We are better than anyone at convincing ourselves that we should do or be because it’s what God wants us to do. Jeremiah put it best 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”

Four Attributes of a Life God Blesses

A few years ago a pastor friend of mine made a statement that caught my ear, “Prosperity is the fruit of a disciplined life.” Even though it makes perfect sense all on it’s own, it is supported by scripture, Deut 5:33 ‘Walk in obedience to all that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.’

When we start on a new venture with our business, my first thought is, “Does the Lord want us to do this?” Before I do anything that costs money, I wait for clear guidance from Him. Confirmation is always through an open door of opportunity, one He has provided not one we opened, or the correct circumstances or the right people or equipment. We know it’s an absolute when ALL of those items happen simultaneously.

Closed on Sunday

It’s not realistic for us to close down our operation on Sunday. While more and more racing organizations are seeing the benefit of a Friday and Saturday program, many are still racing on Saturday and Sunday.

However, the Lord has given us another avenue to quietly let folks know who we are and Whom we serve. We will not allow displays of scantily clad men or women on any websites we host and the live chat that is part of our webcast is a family friendly environment. The one rule we have during any event is ‘keep it clean’ and no foul language. We often have children watching family members race. Kids see enough garbage every day just living life, they do not need to see or hear it on Motormania TV.

Your Work

All I want to hear from our Lord when I get to heaven is, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” The actual bible verse is from Matthew 25:23, “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

Over the last few years, the demand for our product has skyrocketed. That’s the only term I can use to describe it. To think just a few years ago we barely understood how to stream audio less alone a video stream of the quality we have today is certainly mind boggling to me. Some would say we were in the right place at the right time. Others would say we had luck on our side. It’s clear to me that our business has the Lords hand all over it.

New Paradigms

Henry Blackaby writes, “You cannot go with God and stay where you are.” I love that statement! If you walk with the Lord every day, it is impossible to be the same person. The Lord will teach us and mold us into a person of righteousness that brings glory to Him.

We are working in 2 locations this weekend. Both crews started off the weekend with bumpy rides as we had to move a few times before we had everybody and everything set. There was grass to mow, electrical outlets to install and numerous other small hurdles to over come to make everyone happy. We complied with a smile and no crumbling!
