And They Walked Away
Madison, IL – Imagine you are working away at your job. A job you love, a job you’ve spent your adult life working at, one you intend to hand down to your children when they grow up…a legacy for all time. But then a man walks up to you, you kind of know Him, but not really.
He looks at you and says follow Me and I will make you fishers of men. No long discussion, no begging, no talk of compensation, just a request, “Follow me and I’ll make you a fisher of men.” You drop your nets, your gear and without thinking, walk away from what you inteded to do for the rest of your life. This is the call of our Lord to mankind. He has work for us that is much more important than what’s in our hands.
