Talk is cheap…action speak louder than words. While it never hurts to do the ‘wind work’, as my grandpa use to say, when it’s time to get the job done, then it’s time to stop talking and put your shoulder to the plow and get after it. That’s how I was raised.
If you want to impress someone, then say what you’re going to do, then do it. I find a lot of ‘talkers’ in our line of business. Big promises and very little return. It’s amazing…it’s one of those deals where if I had a nickel for everyone that said they were going to do something I’d be rich kind of environments. We’ve all seen it or been involved with something similar.
This is how many have come to view Christ followers. All talk and no action or say one thing but do the opposite. The stories we hear how people have been hurt in the church or by fellow Christians just breaks our hearts. This is one of the biggest reasons we strive so hard to be genuine in our actions as business owners and Christ followers.
If we want to stand any chance of impacting the world, we must lead by example. We are the first and sometimes the last opportunity to be Jesus to the world…examine our life today…are you a talker or a doer?
Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
