JAMA Racing Ministry

The off season, what an oxymoron that thought is for anyone involved in the world of motorsports, is an opportunity to get ready for the next year.  We often find ourselves fixing, modifying or purchasing new gear or accomplishing needed maintenance on our production units.  This years ‘time between seasons’ has allowed us to fix some significant problems on both motorhomes.  None of the issues were unmanageable, (even though they did seem to be bigger than life at times), but they did require we move outside our comfort zone to tackle.

I believe this is our 14th or 15th time attending the Performance Racing Industry trade show over the last 20 years.  It’s always the first weekend in December and has been held at the Indianapolis Convention Center for the last 4 or 5 years.  Man it sure is cold in Indiana in December!

Time after time after time, the Lord has shown He is more than capable of providing for my family and business’s needs. In every season of life, He has proven faithful. We might not have been eatin’ ‘high on the hog’, but we never lacked for basic needs.

If you are a Christ follower, you are a minister regardless of what you do for a living. Fourteen years ago I would not have said that nor would I have agreed with the notion of marketplace ministry.

Over the last 5 years, as the Lord has grown our business, we have seen Him touch many people through our work. We find people talk to us more as ‘secular’ workers than ministers of the Gospel. Often folks would put on their ‘church’ face when we were the official chaplain of a series. Rarely would they be real in how they spoke with us or what they would share with myself or my wife simply because they did not want to offend us because of who we were.
