Death and Birth of A Vision
“I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” – John 12:24
In February of 2006, I helped a friend stream the first sportsman level drag racing event over the web. We had a joint vision to bring the hero’s of sportsman drag racing to the public eye.
Over the next 2 years, we would stream numerous races and events related to drag racing. In October of 2007, we streamed our last race together. After nearly 2 years, we just could not make it work, no matter how hard we tried. My buddy went back to work in television and I went to school to start a course of study for a degree in computer technology.
The next couple of years it seemed like the vision I had for the ministry and webcasting sportsman drag racing had died. While I was still ministering at the races, it seemed flat…and the opportunity to webcast anything was non-existent. Everything I tried did not work. I stepped down as the chaplain for the last series we were involved in in the fall of 2008. I figured the Lord was changing what He wanted me to do, so I helped best I could at a buddies church and waited. When I finally let my vision go, that’s when the Lord started to work and show me His vision.
In June of 2009 we birthed Dragstory.com In the fall of 2009 He would call me to ministry at the track, a year later we would start streaming drag racing again and in the spring of 2011 start MotormaniaTV.com This time it was all very different. The Lord was blending the business and ministry like tea in water. I did not think it was possible to do such a thing. I never saw any of this coming. It’s amazing what can happen when you let go and let God. The vision He is showing me for the future is nothing short of phenomenal. Time to buckle up and hang on, this ride is about to get extreme.
