Prosperity in Afflictions
If you find yourself in a hard place, ask the Lord what He wants you to learn from it so you can grow and gain knowledge and experience for where He is taking you.
Avoiding Detours
A few weeks ago I was listening to a message about the plans the Lord has for each one of us. The pastor brought out many great points about how the Lord uses the circumstances of life as one of the many ways He guides us along the path. As he developed the message, he quoted a statement a friend made to him several years ago, “The only thing harder than waiting on God is wishing you had.” Read that statement again and let it sink in…
The Benefits of Obedience
Obedience to the Lord’s will is often filled with difficulties, especially when you are dealing with people and situations of the world. I have a friend who is going through a tough time with a tenant in his building. He allowed these folks to have office space, free of charge, for a given amount of time as their business transitioned from one owner to the next.
An Audience of One
Recently we listened to John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress. I think this was the 4th or 5th time I heard the unabridged version over the last 15 years. It is a classic and full of wisdom for any Christ follower on their journey in this life. Hard to believe it was published 337 years ago and written by a man with little or no formal biblical training.
Changing Our Paradigm of Experience
Once again the Lord is moving our company forward at a pace that can only be described as extremely uncomfortable if not down right scary. Over the last few months, we’ve realized it makes no sense for us to stay in our home. As we close out the season, we will have only spent 12 weeks in the house. So we have decided He wants us to move back into our motorhome fulltime.
The Pitfall of Being Entrepreneurial
Is it God’s will or mine? That is the question I constantly ask myself as I walk through life. As a small business owner there are opportunities that present themselves through the normal course of doing business. The question is, which ones should I take and which should be bypassed?
Defining Moments
It’s been nearly 15 years since I raised my hands in surrender to the Lord and His will for my life. It all started when the vice president of a racing association suggestion I become their new chaplain. Within a few days of that question being asked, I would accept the position and my life would be forever changed.
